Kerala bumper lotteries, from Vishu to New Year

Six times a year the Kerala State Lottery scales up: pricier tickets, far bigger prize ladders, and jackpots that have reached ₹30 crore. Bumpers behave differently from the daily weeklies in ways that confuse even regular players — the shared BR code being the biggest one — so here is the whole system in one page.

The six bumpers and when they are drawn

Exact dates and amounts are announced by the Directorate for each edition — treat the table as the recurring rhythm, not a promise. Once a bumper's draw date is announced it appears across this site automatically: on the homepage, in the result-today flow, and in the BR results archive after the draw.

Why every bumper ticket says "BR"

The department numbers all bumpers in a single BR series that runs across the year — BR-110 might be a Monsoon Bumper and BR-111 the Thiruvonam Bumper. The code on the ticket does not tell you the festival; the printed event name does. On this site every bumper draw carries its own event name (a Vishu Bumper result page is labelled Vishu Bumper, not just "BR"), so the archive stays readable years later. When comparing results elsewhere, always match both the BR number and the date.

How bumpers differ from the weekly draws

• Draw time: bumpers are drawn at 2:00 PM IST, an hour before the 3 PM weeklies, at Gorky Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram. Live numbers reach our pages from about 2 PM on bumper days.
• Tickets: bumper tickets cost more than the ₹50 weekly ticket (recent editions have ranged between ₹300 and ₹500) and sell for weeks before the draw, all over Kerala.
• Prize ladder: beyond the headline jackpot, bumpers pay large 2nd/3rd tiers across multiple winning tickets and deep lower tiers — total winner counts run far beyond a weekly draw. Compare with the weekly prize structures.
• Claims and tax: the process is the same as any prize (see the claim guide): 30-day surrender window, and a crore-plus bumper prize sits in the top surcharge band — the tax guide shows the arithmetic. On a ₹25 crore jackpot the deduction alone is measured in crores.

A note on bumper "guessing numbers"

Around every big bumper the internet fills with paid "guaranteed bumper numbers". Our position is the same for bumpers as for the weeklies: our AI guessing numbers are a serious statistical experiment, publicly graded on the AI record — and a random draw cannot be beaten, by us or by anyone selling certainty. Never pay for numbers, and never buy more tickets than the entertainment is worth to you: play responsibly.
