Prize Structure
Bhagyathara is a weekly Monday draw with a Rs 1 crore first prize at the top, followed by a Rs 30 lakh second prize and a Rs 5 lakh third prize. A consolation prize of Rs 5,000 goes to tickets sharing the first-prize number across other series, and lower tiers from the 4th to the 9th prize reward matching four-digit endings.
Tax and Agent Commission
Prize winnings are subject to income tax deducted at source of about 30%, plus applicable surcharge and cess, which is withheld before the payout reaches the winner. Authorised agents who sell winning tickets earn roughly 10% commission. Tax rates and thresholds are set by the government and can change, so confirm current details with the Directorate or a tax adviser.
Verifying Ticket Authenticity
Use the official Kerala Lottery barcode scanner to confirm your ticket is genuine, and match the number and series against the official result gazette. Never rely on a screenshot or unofficial list alone when a large prize is involved.
